These are the feelings that swirl as I sit and listen as dusk nears, watching the pristine snow dancing like a million tiny white candles, flickering and sprinkling sparkling diamonds in the air, blanketing the ground. One final gaze as the snow changes her rhythm, as if to remind me to keep going and not lose the thread. The field is open. There is a place for you here.

An Invitation

The Soul Fields is over the moon to be hosting renowned astrologer John Sandbach for a three-part astrology course. John has been working in the field of the stars for over 55 years and brings his amassed wisdom to share with anyone who is curious to explore the depths of astrology.

The first eight-week course is titled Beginner’s Mind. This is the first course in a three-part series, with Intermediate and Advanced courses to follow later this year. Whether you already know astrology or are completely new to it, this class invites us to approach the stars with fresh eyes — opening our beginner’s mind and renewing our relationship to the living language of astrology.

Together we will explore how to breathe with, move with, feel, and listen to the energies of the chart and the patterns they reveal.

By the end of this course, you will have the foundational tools needed to begin reading and understanding an astrological chart, or to deepen your existing knowledge by opening new doorways of insight within the chart.

Why Study with John Sandbach?

John Sandbach has been practicing astrology for over fifty-five years and is widely respected for his innovative work with symbolic systems. He is the original channeler and creator of the Chandra Symbols, a symbolic system that explores the deeper imaginal language of the zodiac.

Over the years, John has also worked extensively with other astrological symbol systems, including the Omega Symbols, Azoth Symbols, and Pleiadian Symbols, offering his own interpretations and insights through decades of study and practice. All of his degree symbols are featured in the Sirius, Kepler, and Pegasus astrology programs by Cosmic Patterns Software.

What We Will Explore in the Beginner’s Mind

Over the course of eight weeks we will build upon the symbolic and direct language of astrology, exploring the essential components of the chart and how they weave together.

Lesson 1

The ten planets, the North and South Nodes, and four asteroids, and their polar nature.

Lesson 2

The twelve zodiac signs, their modality and element, and their spiritual and psychological expressions. Introduction to frequencies and degree symbols.

Lesson 3

The twelve houses and their meanings, along with various house systems used in chart interpretation.

Lesson 4

Major and minor aspects and the dynamic relationships created between planets.

Lesson 5

Natural dispositions and chart formations.

Lesson 6

The four planetary departments and focal determinators.

Lesson 7

Planetary rulers, exaltations, detriments, and falls.

Lesson 8

Special chart points including the Star of Destiny, Part of Spirit, Part of Bad Luck, and an introduction to the ninth harmonic.

About the Lessons

These lessons form the foundation of our journey, with each one excavating deeper layers of meaning, insight, and opening what has yet to be seen.

Each class builds naturally upon the one before it, allowing the language of astrology to unfold step by step, integrating along the way. Students are not expected to master everything at once; rather, the goal is to become familiar with the living architecture of the chart and how its many elements speak to one another.

There will be time during each class for questions, discussion, and clarification, allowing the material to deepen through shared discovery.

Class Format

• This course consists of eight live online Zoom classes with John Sandbach.

• Each session will include teaching, discussion, and time for questions and clarification as we explore the material together.

• All classes will be recorded, so participants who cannot attend live will still have access to the recordings.

I have written these words through the arc of a snowfall. Nearing the end, the snow has gone wild in the fields, blowing and heavy, almost a whiteout. As I close, the snow has almost stopped, with only a few flakes ending their dance. The sky is still, quiet, vast, open — holding the space for new breath and new life.
